Legal
MÂCHÉ monitors legislative activity at the state level and periodically alerts members to national legislative issues as well.
Minnesota's homeschool regulations are not overly burdensome; however, they are more restrictive than many other states. When public school officials or legislators propose more restrictions, Minnesota homeschool leaders oppose the move often through legislative action.
MÂCHÉ alerts the homeschool community about legislative concerns in the The Paper MÂCHÉ, the Non-Paper MÂCHÉ electronic bulletin, and our e-alert system. When necessary, MÂCHÉ organizes testimony for legislative hearings. MÂCHÉ also provides extensive information about legal requirements and resources to members in the MÂCHÉ Handbook Online (available to MÂCHÉ members). Join MÂCHÉ or renew your membership by clicking the Members Only tab at the top of the page. Annual membership fee is $35. Membership extends for twelve months from date of join or from expiration date if you are already a MÂCHÉ member.
