Anton Gillies

ANTON GILLIES was born in Lithuania (Russia). He planned to become a Catholic Priest, but ended up fleeing from Russia to the United States because he was unwilling to fight for the Czar. He settled in Chicago, where he was saved. He was called to the ministry and graduated from Northern Baptist Theological Seminary. He organized the Lithuanian Missionary Association in 1928 and himself witnessed to his own countrymen in the U.S., his homeland of Lithuania, Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil.
