PETER MARSHALL was born in Scotland. As a young atlete, he wa sasked to run in the 100m race in the 1924 Olympics, but refused because the race was to be held on a Sunday. Feeling called to the ministry, he was persuaded to study theology in America by a cousin who told him, "there's just as many sinners in the U.S. as in Scotland." After a successful preaching career, he became Chaplain of the U.S. Senate.
