...Parents of Preschoolers...

MACHE encourages young families to consider the option of home education. So, we have decided to do something we’ve never done before. We would like to invite parents of preschoolers (POPS) to attend our 2010 conference — at no cost. We’ve planned some special workshops during the regular conference for parents who have only young children (five years old or younger with no big brothers or sisters). These workshops discuss how to teach readiness skills and other important aspects of teaching young children. MACHE has never offered these classes before and we are very excited about them. The workshops are described below and will be offered on Friday of the regular MACHE Conference.

This is a one-time opportunity, and we need help from our MACHE members in order for it to work well. We need to ask for participants to follow a few guidelines.
  • A MACHE member family whose membership is current through April 17, 2010, may invite one POPS couple to attend the 2010 conference with them. The MACHE member family must be registered for the 2010 MACHE Conference before inviting the POPS couple.
  • The POPS couple (father and mother) must have children five years old or younger in order to participate. This opportunity is not applicable to those who have children older than five years. Both the father and the mother must attend.
  • Neither the POPS father nor mother can have attended a past MACHE Conference.
  • The MACHE member family who has a POPS couple that they would like to invite should contact MACHE by email at info@mache.org in order to verify that they and the POPS couple meet the requirements. Upon verification, the member family would be entrusted with a special discount code for the POPS couple to use when registering.
  • The POPS couple would then register themselves using the MACHE Online Registration, entering the special discount code that would waive their conference registration fee.
  • This is a pre-registration offer. Both the MACHE member family and the POPS couple must pre-register online at www.mache.org by April 4, 2010. This offer is not available on-site.
We hope to help these young families experience home education just a little bit by inviting them to attend the 2010 conference. After attending the special workshops on Friday, they will be able to visit the exhibit hall and attend workshops of their choice on Saturday. Let us encourage them to make an informed decision about one of the greatest choices that they will ever make for their families: discipling their children.
