Favorite Authors of the Hoffman family

Hi All,
If your family is like ours you start looking for books to read for your children once summer is on the way. I always had a hard time finding enough books to keep especially my sons busy in the summer. My youngest son liked Latham's "Carry On, Mr. Bowditch," Peter Reese Doyle's "Drums of War" series and of course Chuck Black's "The Kingdom Series." We read all of Lois Walfred Johnson's, Lee Roddy's, Robert Elmer's series out loud. both the boys and the girls loved them.
We would love to have some titles for older boys if you have recomendations. books that hold up godly principles and show character devolopment which is to be admired are the best reading.

Favorite Author with my 13yo son

Hi,
Last winter we discovered Gabrielle Lord's suspense series "Conspiracy 365" put out by Usborne Books.

It's a series of 12 books, named for the months of the years - BE SURE TO START WITH JANUARY!
There is now a 13th book out and a 14th on the way.

These books are meant for the "tween" crowd. Our public library considers them juvenile fiction, while a neighboring library has them in the JA fiction. The story is of a boy who searches for answers to his father's very mysterious death. There is plenty of action, lots of cliff-hanging endings and NO foul language or sex. I was amazed and thankful to find a series my son would love to read that wasn't full of the popular "dark" themes.

I also enjoyed reading this series!
