BRIGHT LIGHTS IN A DARK WORLD
"For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the LORD: walk as children of light." (Ephesians 5:8)
What comes to your mind when you read this year’s conference theme? Possibly you see trees and houses decorated with all kinds of lights and fancy designs during this Christmas season. The lights make it such an enjoyable time of year! What is your first thought when you read "a dark world"? Perhaps you visualize a dark night without the moon, stars, or even Christmas lights to help you see the way. Maybe you think a dark world would include the unknown influences in the world around you.
As home educators we want to protect our children from the fear and danger that we sense in the “darkness” of this world. Although we are not to be a part of this world, we do live in this world; and God wants us to engage the world and “walk as children of light” so that people will see Jesus Christ the Lord. “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all” (1 John 1:5 KJV).
One of our jobs as home educating parents is to teach our children how to do just that, and for many of us, that is not easy. We have an excellent array of speakers for the 2012 MÂCHÉ conference! They will give you the tools you need to teach your children how to be lights in the darkness, regardless of the ages of your children, the amount of time you have available, or the level of your boldness.

Home educated teens have a very special treat this year! Bill Jack of Worldview Academy will be leading our 2012 Teen Track. He is one of the most popular speakers for young people in the nation. Bill has brought a fantastic program with him designed to teach teens how to engage their world with vibrancy, depth, and godly purpose.
Bill will present six workshops during the two-day Teen Track, which meets simultaneously with the MÂCHÉ conference. Attendance is open to teens, thirteen years old and older, whose parents are registered to attend the 2012 MÂCHÉ conference.
