Karen Soencksen lives in the Twin Cities with her husband Keith, where they homeschool their six children. They began homeschooling in 2000 when their oldest daughter was just starting Kindergarten. Their family participated with CHEN (Christian Home Educators Network) in Maryland before moving to Minnesota and joining MÂCHÉ. The Soencksens participated in TAG Coop for 7 years and Karen was its director from 2004-2009. Karen feels blessed to have the freedom and opportunity to home educate and is honored to serve as a MÂCHÉ liaison to encourage other families in their pursuit of homeschooling. When they are not homeschooling, Karen and her family can be found on the North Shore enjoying the breathtaking view of Lake Superior and standing in awe of God’s amazing handiwork.
