Thank you to everyone who had a part in the 2012 MACHE Commencement ceremony on May 19, 2012, held at Fourth Baptist Church in Plymouth, Minnesota. The 47 graduates were challenged to commit their lives to Christ because He is the best leader and to "carry their own weight" by the strength that God supplies.

Enjoy the MÂCHÉ 2012 Legislative Training Days picture gallery!  This is your opportunity to see photos of our two day event for homeschooled high school students and their parents. 

Always a popular event, LTD is a mixture of workshop, tours, interactive sessions and visits with legislators and the people who do all the work behind the scenes at the Capitol.  This year's group was treated to a few new things -- they were the first group to be given the opportunity to visit the Senate floor, and they were given an "extended tour" of the Capitol grounds, complete with a State Office Building evacuation!  They also had the honor of personally thanking Senator Gen Olson for her many years of service in the Minnesota Senate and for her tireless legislative work on behalf of homeschoolers throughout Minnesota. 

This gallery includes pictures of visits from several legislators, touring the hearing rooms and Capitol Rotunda, a group picture from the House Speaker's podium and more.

"Bright lights in a dark world"

April 13 - 14, 2012, Saint Paul, Minnesota

Welcome to the 2012 picture gallery!  We have some "fresh from the conference" pictures that we are sure you will enjoy.

The 2012 conference is past, but we have lots of good memories of the fellowship we had with other homeschoolers, the much needed encouragement we received, the heartfelt stories our speakers shared with honesty and openness, the great curricula we were able to peruse, and much more.  The keynote speakers were Phil Downer, his wife Susy, son Paul, and daughter and son-in-law Sam and Anna (Downer) Youngs, who shared the lessons they learned the hard way. Featured speakers were Derek and Cheryl Carter, who spoke on home and family issues, and Dianne Craft, always a favorite with Minnesota homeschool parents of struggling learners. The TeenTrack was led by Bill Jack --- and the kids loved him.

"God Sketches from Nature"

April 15 - 16, 2011, Duluth, Minnesota

Welcome to our picture gallery!  We have some great pictures to share this time. 

At the 2011 conference, we heard the unforgettable stories of Larry Guthrie. He really held us captive as he told his story about "The Day I Burned My Neighbor's House Down"?  I don't think it has ever been that quiet in a Keynote Session before; we all wanted to hear what happened next. Carol Barnier also graced us with her fresh, fun, and popular workshops.  Her wit combined with the depth of her presentations made for some very memorable experiences. "A Prodigal Speaks Out" was a favorite of many people, as she told of her own experience in 'finding God'.  Zan Tyler also spoke with a Southern graciousness - not to mention with her South Carolina drawl - and won the hearts of all us northerners.  Her workshop "Raising Children to Be Intentional Christians in a 'Whatever' World" was very popular and we heard many, many good comments about it on the evaluations....

"Homeschool on the Range"

April 16 - 17, 2010, Rochester, Minnesota

Welcome to our picture gallery!  Enjoy the memories as you peruse a few of the photos that we took at the conference.  You might even see someone you know; and you might even see yourself.

We filled the Taylor Arena floor with lots of black dirt and set up a corral for Lew and Melodie Sterrett to show us how to teach good character to our families - using their horses, Spark, Romeo, and Spotlight.  Rick and Marilyn Boyer brought their down-to-earth wisdom and welcomed us into the practical side of home education. Their constant encouragement made it easy to realize that "Yes, we can do this!"  Vicki Bentley brought her vibrant personality and friendly advice with her and taught us how to make the most of what we already have in order to make our busy homeschool families successful.
