WILLIAM BORDER (1887 - 1913) was deeply influenced by a saying of D. L. Moody's, "The world has yet to see what God can do with a fully surrendered man." Borden, already wealthy in his youth, entered Yale University in 1905. There he founded the Yale Hope Mission, a street mission that worked with the "down and out." In 1909 he entered Princeton to study theology. There he became associated with the China Inland Mission. He was ordained to Gospel Ministry by the Moody Church of Chicago in 1912. His desire was to work with Chinese Muslims, so he went to Cairo, Egypt to study Islamics. He died in Cairo at the age of 25 from spinal meningitis.
