ADONIRAM JUDSON (1788 - 1850) learned to read at the age of three and knew Latin and Greek by the time he was ten. In 1810, he helped form the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions. He then left for India, but was refused admission, so went instead to Burma. Thirty years after his death Burma had sixty-three Christian churches, 163 missionaries, and over 7,000 baptized converts.
