ROBERT MOFFAT (Robert: 1795 - 1883) was born in Scotland. He later moved to England, where he was led to Christ by Wesleyan Methodists. He felt a divine call to win the heathen, so he joined the London Missionary Society and went to Cape Town, Africa. He and his wife spent 51 years there establishing the base for much of today's evangelistic work in Africa. He lost three children in Africa. One of his daughters, Mary married David Livingstone. Among his achievements is translating the Bible into the Bechwanas' language.
