COMMUNITY EVENT: SCRIPPS National Spelling Bee

Home Educated Youth of St. Cloud is hosting the Scripps National Spelling Bee and has invited non-HEY members to attend. It’s a fun, low-pressure event that I encourage you to consider!

HEY is participating in the 2019-2020 Scripps National Spelling Bee and we would like to invite non-HEY members to participate for a fee of $10 per student. After we receive payment, we will send out the Wordlist to you from SCRIPPS.

Here are the details:

The 2019-2020 Spelling Bee will take place in the Mississippi Room at the St. Cloud Public Library at 10:30 am on January 9th. HEY members in grades 5-8 are invited to take part in the Spelling Bee. The winner will progress to the regional spelling bee at Resource Training and Solutions on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. As part of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, winners can continue to progress up to the state and national bees. It is an exciting opportunity for our group to be part of this national competition. There are several ways for everyone to be involved:

You certainly do not have to be a stellar speller to benefit from the preparation and public speaking opportunity the spelling bee provides. Parents of students who would like to participate in our spelling bee, please contact either of us Coordinators to register and get the practice word list.
