Exhausting Your Drive: Video Games and the Brain

(Jen Beyst and Johann Marsland will be co-presenting this workshop.) Are video games evil cognitive parasites or simply a friendly distraction? Video games have become a regular part of many people’s lives, but what effect do they have on our brain function? Some are shouting a warning cry about “gamers brain”? while others are dismissing them as having little to no effect on us. This workshop will help you to know how video games impact the brain, how to identify overuse of electronic entertainment, and how to recognize the causes and symptoms of video game related cognitive decline.
