Carol Topp CPA

Carol Topp, CPA (HomeschoolCPA.com and MicroBusinessForTeens.com) is a retired homeschool mother, accountant, and the author of Homeschool Co-ops: How to Start Them, Run Them and Not Burn Out and the award winning book Starting a Micro Business. Carol runs an accounting practice specializing in helping nonprofit organizations, especially homeschool organizations. Through her writing, speaking and consulting, Carol converts tax rules and business language into clear, easy-to-understand English. She is the author of 12 books including the Micro Business for Teens series, Career Exploration for Homeschool High School Students and her most recent book, Paying Workers in a Homeschool Organization. She has also published several magazine articles in The Old Schoolhouse, Home Education, and Homeschool Enrichment magazines. Carol is the host of the public television show “Starting a Micro Business” and hosts a podcast called the “Dollars and Sense Show” on the Ultimate Homeschool Radio Network. Her website, HomeschoolCPA.com, was awarded a “Top Accounting Blog” in 2015, but her greatest compliment came from an audience member who, after sitting for 90 minutes, said, “You kept my attention the entire time.” That’s high praise for a CPA! Carol lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband and has two daughters, both homeschool high school graduates.
