Vicky Stigen, Joy Stigen, and Kara Young
Vicky Stigen holds a master’s degree from Columbia International University in Intercultural Studies/TEFL, which has sent her on teaching adventures around the world. During twenty years of homeschooling and running a growing theater company for teens and young adults, she fell in love with theater’s ability to challenge imaginations for the glory of God. Today, she invests in the next generation through English tutoring and drama training in Minnesota.
Joy Stigen is a director, playwright, and designer for her homeschool theater troupe founded in 2009. She gained extensive backstage experience at the University of Northwestern, St. Paul, working on shows like The Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins, and Anne of Green Gables. Since completing her B. A. in Theatrical Design, she has coached young actors and designed and managed over a dozen shows. As an avid artist, reader, and audience member, she values quality stories that shape culture, challenge the audience’s worldview, and promote critical thinking.
Kara Young holds a bachelor’s in English: Writing and Literature from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul. A homeschooled kid now entering the next generation of homeschoolers, Kara emphasizes spiritual formation, deep thinking, and classical arts in education. From acting to teaching, writing to martial arts, mothering to knitting, she brings a passion for beauty as a spiritual ideal. Besides being a stay-at-home mom of two, Kara works as an English tutor and a freelance writer and performs as a senior actor and coach with Get Your Act Together.
