Heartland Christian Home Educators (HCHE) exists to support parents choosing to educate their children at home in obedience to God, to enrich those students’ educational programs, and to serve as a resource for home education information. We set ourselves apart as a Christian organization when we met and adopted a Statement of Faith on July 12, 1991. It is important to us to be identified as Christian and all our teachers sign our Statement of Faith.
HCHE facilitates a co-op, occasional field trips and activity opportunities, a “Monthly Mom’s Meeting” for fellowship, and a graduation ceremony when requested. We also host occasional family picnics or other activities during the summer. We encourage families to support one another and to be a part of each others’ lives.
We serve Little Falls and surrounding areas in Minnesota. Our HCHE Co-op program is designed for Kindergarten through Twelfth grade. Nursery and preschool are provided as a service for families that have a student enrolled in our K-12 classes or for Co-op teachers’ children. We usually hold Co-op classes at a Little Falls church twice per month for approximately three hours from September thru May. There are usually two classes followed by a snack and game time.
Russ McGlenn’s Science classes are also offered through our co-op with two days of classes each in the Spring and Fall. The McGlenns teach Creation based science.
