Our co-op offers many wonderful activities for Christian moms and their homeschooled children from nursery-age to the 12th grade. We meet the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month (Sept-Apr) from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at South Suburban Evangelical Free Church in Apple Valley. During this time, moms participate in a support group that includes devotions, speakers, discussions, prayer groups (a favorite!), food, and twice yearly book sales. We also meet a few times throughout the year for mom’s night out!
While the moms are in their support group, the children attend classes taught by hired teachers. Grades 1-7 rotate through art, science, gym, and homeroom. The schedule for Grades 8-12 encompasses an ongoing, yearlong writing class, a separate “unit study” time (with varying topics), and a prayer and devotion time (which includes food, of course!) Younger children are in a classroom setting with their teacher, and also have a gym time. Our smallest students are well-cared for in the nursery.
In addition to our co-op classes, there are several other opportunities for our students to learn and socialize throughout the year. These may include a Challenge tied to our year’s theme, a variety of field trips, Spelling Bee, Christmas party, Yearbook, Picture Day, Year End Picnic, and service opportunities.
